Stellarware Launches Medical Assistance Intercept System (MAIS) with Rhode Island's Executive Office of Health and Human Services
Stellarware, in cooperation with the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services, is proud to announce its Medical Assistance Intercept System (MAIS).
The MAIS concept was conceived in response to the need of creating an effective and efficient method to implement the State's Medical Assistance Intercept Act (Article 11). The program is designed to model the Child Support Lien Network (CSLN) and its workflow. In its successful thirteen-year history, CSLN has built a symbiotic working relationship with the insurance industry by developing custom, streamlined processes. Emulating the CSLN workflow will allow MAIS to fit seamlessly into insurance companies' procedures. Utilizing a thorough quality assurance process enables MAIS to provide insurers with the same high level of qualified, matched claims.
MAIS is a fully integrated, web-based program that is customizable for all state and insurance users. It will electronically match Rhode Island Medicaid recipients with liability and workers' compensation insurance claims to intercept payments of $500 or more for reimbursement to the State's Medicaid Program. Insurance companies and attorneys will have the option of performing either a data match through the Insurance Services Office (ISO) ClaimSearch or utilizing the MAIS interactive lookup system to identify Medicaid recipients.
Once again, the State of Rhode Island has chosen to employ and expand the concept of a public/private partnership with the insurance industry and their Medicaid experts to develop and implement the MAIS program. It is projected that MAIS has the potential to save Rhode Island millions of dollars in Medicaid costs.
